The All of Us Research Program: Advancing Precision Medicine for the Nation

Speaker

Geoff Ginsburg, MD, PhD

The NIH All of Us Research Program aims to gather data from 1 million or more people in the United States to accelerate research and improve health. >850,000 participants have enrolled, sharing health-related data including electronic health records (EHRs), biospecimens, data from wearable technologies, and self-reported surveys. All of Us data are housed in the cloud-based Researcher Workbench, which includes tools, support resources, sample data workbooks and more. 15,000+ researchers from around the world have produced over 1000 peer-reviewed publications using the data. Future directions include expansion of available data in Spring 2026 and building infrastructure to support a growing number of Partnered Research Studies to bring in new data to the program, including environmental exposures, nutrition, behavioral health, and others.
