The Multiscale Immune System Modeling (MISM) Center is pleased to announce the inaugural annual MISM Pilot Award Request for Proposal, due January 31, 2026, 5:00pm EST.
Through this funding opportunity announcement, we aim to encourage new and unique projects and collaborations bridging across biological scales that 1) address fundamental gaps in our mechanistic understanding of immune-related health and disease and 2) provide in silico laboratories evaluating prophylactic and therapeutic interventions.
The full RFP can be found here, and application submission instructions are below:
A Letter of Intent (LOI) is required to submit a MISM Pilot Grant. LOIs should include the following information:
- Name and email of the Principal Investigator(s)
 - Names of other key personnel and Institution/Department/Division Affiliation
 - Descriptive title of proposed research
 - Abstract (less than 350 words) describing hypotheses and aims
 - LOIs should be emailed to MISM@duke.edu

MISM uses the MyResearchProposal online application software to submit full applications.

One-year awards are intended to facilitate Early-Stage Investigatory research by providing modest, but essential resources. Funds are typically used to generate preliminary data for a planned NIH grant application or to address weaknesses in a previously submitted, unscored proposal.
