Jianfeng Lu, PhD, Co-Investigator, is a Professor of Mathematics, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Professor of Physics at Duke University. He earned his PhD from Princeton University in 2009. Dr. Lu is an applied mathematician interested in mathematical analysis and algorithm development for problems in computational physics, theoretical chemistry, materials science, machine learning, and related fields. More specifically, his current research focuses include: high-dimensional PDEs; generative models and sampling methods; control and reinforcement learning; electronic structure and many-body problems; quantum molecular dynamics; and multiscale modeling and analysis. Dr. Lu serves as Co-Investigator for MISM Research Project 2.
