Postdoctoral Associate, Duke
Dr. Kapil Devkota is a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Rohit Singh’s lab at Duke University. His research focuses on the analysis and design of biomolecules, with a particular emphasis on proteins. His current work utilizes Protein Language Models (PLMs) to uncover intrinsic functional relationships in proteins and to design novel variants that modulate their activities according to specific biological objectives.
With recent advances in general PLMs and the emergence of antibody-specific models, the ambitious goal of developing antibodies with high affinity for user-specified targets is gradually becoming achievable. Dr. Devkota aims to leverage his expertise to accelerate this effort, ultimately realizing the creation of specialized antibodies through a fully computational, efficient, and highly accurate PLM-based pipeline.
