Kayla Kilpatrick, PhD, Biostatistician, is a Biostatistician III in the Duke Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design Methods Core (BERD Core) and will serve as the Community Development and Education (CDEC) Staff Lead. In collaboration with CDEC co-leads, Drs. Pomann and Pollara, Dr. Kilpatrick will lead the development of the specialized resource navigation function and the dedicated Design Studios for any investigator or IID modeler seeking collaborators for their research projects. Dr. Kilpatrick will provide leadership during the development, planning, and execution of the mentored summer scholars research and training internship, the transdisciplinary IID modeling scholars training program, and the annual MISM conferences. She will also work with co-Leads Pomann and Pollara to develop the IID Modeler Network, a national Community of Practice that will foster a cohesive network of IID modelers across various career stages and backgrounds.
