Postdoctoral Associate, Duke University
Dr. Yue Liu is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mathematics at Duke University. His research broadly focuses on multiscale modeling of biological systems using differential equations and agent-based models. More specifically, he is interested in integrating data-driven approaches, including topological data analysis, equation learning, and Bayesian inference, with traditional applied mathematics, such as dynamical systems and control theory, toward a deeper understanding of biological systems.
At MISM, Dr. Liu focuses on mathematical modeling of Epstein-Barr virus and HIV, and their interactions with the immune system. Prior to joining MISM, he earned a DPhil from the University of Oxford, where he studied data-driven mathematical modeling of biological systems, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University on biological pattern formation.
